This year sees the 6th edition of the Annuale, the festival of grassroots artistic activity in Edinburgh organised by EMBASSY, moving from the festival month of August to the more sedate June. This year will see a diverse range of exhibitions including ‘Grey Matter’ an exhibition organised by the MA Contemporary Art Theory Students at ECA, ‘Heavy Metal Mouth’ curated by Polarcap and Hyperground, which will be looking at the links between heavy metal and minimalism, ‘Aumma Aumma’ a group show of local and international artists curated by Francesca Nobilucci and Shona Macnaughton, ‘Radio Soundscapes’ a series of artists sound works to be broadcast through Leith FM facilitated by Rocca Gutteridge. Alongside these events there will be more exhibitions and a program of talks, screenings and one-off events around the city in bars, flats and empty shops and of course EMBASSY’s surprise offering and a launch party.
