A committee role at EMBASSY is a voluntary position that lasts for a maximum of two years, with the committee consisting of 5-7 members at any given time. The role requires members to be involved in all aspects of running and maintaining our gallery; this includes (but is not limited to) devising and delivering our annual programme of exhibitions, events and workshops, sourcing funding for these activities and making them happen!
While we aren’t looking for individuals with specific artist-run initiative experience, we are keen to hear from people who are personable, enthusiastic and can help contribute to, and shape EMBASSY.
We would like to emphasise that this is not a paid role, as such we are not soliciting CVs or artist statements from those who wish to apply, rather we would like for you to send us either, a short written expression (max 500 words) of interest or a video / alternative media if you prefer.
We ask that this expression states the reasons for why you would like to join the committee, your interest in being a part of our artist-led organisation, which of the advertised roles you are interested in and why.
We are particularly interested in recruiting for the roles of Treasurer, Technician and Archivist.

Support ECA intern in organising members show
Social Media Campaigns
Manage Creative Scotland budget
Ensure invoices are paid, standing orders and direct debit information is kept updated
Send acknowledgement/ payment confirmation emails
Keep Programme Year Financial Overview spreadsheets up to date
Upload annual accounts to Google Drive
Send Programme Year Financial Overview spreadsheets to accountant in advance of OSCR and Companies House deadlines
Upload full accounts to OSCR and Companies House annually
and fill out reports for each
Ensure all Companies House and OSCR information is kept up to date including adding and removing committee members
Ensure all banking information is kept up to date including adding and removing signatories
Maintain equipment store – periodically test equipment to make sure it is working
Research and source new/replacement equipment
Update inventory on Google Drive
Responsible for AV install
Outreach and Engagement Officer:
Develop and implement community engagement/learning projects
Equality and Diversity Officer:
Develop an annual equality and diversity action plan and review
Collate and analyse data collected in monitoring forms
Maintain paper archive – create filing system
Develop publicly accessible archive
Ensure posters are laminated and filed
Photograph and digitise archive
Create digital filing system
From these submissions we will then develop a short list of people to come meet with us individually, discussing further their experiences and interest in becoming a part of the committee.
