Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, 21 Hawthornvale, Edinburgh EH6 4JT

Full day led by Gordon Douglas, a performance artist and collaborator who lives and works in Glasgow.

Twelve Months: The Opportunities Dice Game

A day-long workshop led by Gordon Douglas on (un)luckiness, seasonable fortune, meritocracy, and destiny.

Gordon Douglas is a performance artist and collaborator currently invested in developing alternative models of co-inhabitance, friendship and organisation in order to further understand shared responsibility within civic orchestration, queer histories and curatorial strategy. It is an ongoing examination into the expanded body and collective mind, an interrogation and indulgence in the cultural industries that influence and govern this/us.

Sunday 19th January 2020

Basic Mountain, 1a Hill Street, Edinburgh

Full day led by Corin Sworn.

Looking at planning and disruption over the course of a project, Corin Sworn will address several stages of production including proposal writing, communicating ideas as a team and possible ways to address research once it has been collected. The morning will focus on a specific project’s proposal, production and crisis and the afternoon will explore how playing with stylisations of personal voice might offer perspectives on what to do with research once collected.

Corin Sworn is a Glasgow based artist, she grew up in Toronto. She moved to Vancouver to study Psychology at the University of British Columbia before studying an art degree at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She moved to Glasgow in 2007 to complete an MFA at The Glasgow School of Art.
