‘alice__alice’ is a DIY pop song and music video.
Rhona’s new video takes place mainly within Alice’s perfectly curated Instagram posts. Using costumes and props, Alice’s photographs are un-digitised and translated into physical space. Costumed actors play Alice & her friends and interact with the props in front of a green screen. They are then transported into digitally animated environments. Rhona exists in the real world, scrolling through Insta alone at home.
‘alice__alice, 1 2 3: I wish your life belonged to me’
Commissioned by LUX & BBC Scotland for BBC: Now & Next.
Music by Jamie Cook.
Presented as an installation with collaborative sculpture with Elouise Farley.
Alice played by Ailsa Lonsdale.
Actors: Mary Clarke, Clair Senior, Isela Hamilton and Hannah MacMillan.
DOP: David Liddell
