EMBASSY Gallery would like to give you money! Announcing: 🤑The EMBASSY Members Fund🤑

a micro-bursary of £500 to support the practice and/or research of our members. This grant has been set up to support our members who are emerging artists & identifying with any of the following; working-class, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, care experienced, caregiver or disabled. This no-strings-attached bursary can be used in any way you like – be that rent, bills, subscriptions, travel, materials or research! We will be selecting 5 members this year and hope to keep this up as a recurring annual opportunity!

Criteria for Applicants:

  • Purpose: This fund is designed to support the art practice and/or research of EMBASSY members.
  • Selection: Applicants will be selected based on who we believe would benefit most from the financial support. We welcome applications from individuals, duos and collectives however grants cannot be combined – i.e. one application one grant.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must self-identify as an emerging artist and be based in Scotland. We understand that there are systemic barriers to accessing support in the arts so please only apply if you are part of at least one of the following communities*
  • Working Class
  • BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color)
  • LGBTQIA+
  • Care Experienced
  • Caregiver
  • Disabled

*in the case of Duos and Collectives members must all be based in Scotland and identify as emerging artists; however only 50% of members need to identify as part of the above referenced communities.

  • When we use the term emerging artists we are describing artists who are:

Recent creative graduates of any age

Individuals who have had no or limited access to higher education and are pursuing creativity professionally.

  • Advice: We are looking for clear, concise artist statements that are easy to read and understand. Please don’t get Jargony on us! Be yourself!

Applications are not open to students

  1. Form: Please complete our Google form, which includes a maximum 500-word artist statement (you don’t need to fill it!).
